Community guidelines.
Draft for review. The final version will be published before AdventLink launches.
The spirit of it
AdventLink is for building real community: worship, service, friendship and fun. Treat people the way you’d want to be treated at church on Sabbath.
Not allowed
- Harassment, bullying, threats, or encouraging anyone to hurt themselves.
- Hate or demeaning content about anyone’s race, ethnicity, nationality, sex, disability, age or other personal characteristics.
- Sexual content, or any content that sexualizes minors (reported to authorities).
- Contacting teens in ways that make them unsafe, or asking them to move to private channels.
- Spam, scams, fake giveaways, or pressuring people for money.
- Pretending to be someone else, or a church, conference or organization you don’t represent.
- Sharing other people’s private information without permission.
- Events that are misleading, dangerous or illegal.
Reporting
Use Report on a profile, an event or a message. Moderators review reports within 48 hours; reports about a teen’s safety, threats or self-harm go first. The person you report isn’t told who reported them. You can also block anyone at any time.
If someone is in immediate danger, call 911. For self-harm, call or text 988 in the US. Safety contact: safety@adventlinkapp.com.
What moderators may do
Serious or repeated problems lead to stronger action. If you think a decision was wrong, contact support.
- Dismiss a report if nothing was wrong.
- Warn an account.
- Remove a message, unpublish or lock an event, or remove a photo.
- Suspend an account while we look into something, or permanently ban it.
